Update: well, we didn’t get the house we wanted. Don’t try to buy a house before you sell your own is good advice, which we kind of knew already but it was just too good an opportunity to pass up. We aren’t that desperate to move though – no great desire to have a bigger mortgage before we need one! – so we’ve taken the house of the market for now. It’ll be back though, so I can send some details if you’re really interested. (5 December 2009)
