A two minute silence isn’t really very long to contemplate everyone who lost their life, so this year I remembered Reginald Waters. Earlier in the year we visited the Lone Pine cemetery and it looked like quite a few of the graves had been visited recently. Reginald’s was one of those with a poppy, and there was also a photo which had been left. I’ve been meaning to look him up since.
This evening I found out a bit more, via the list of names at the Lone Pine cemetery:
He was also remembered in The Argus newspaper.
It all seems such a waste, with Turkish cemeteries close by. Pretty well summed up by this memorial I think.
